NEW YORK, NY
1-18-2012

On December 6, the St. Padre Pio (Ridgefield, CT) Middle School visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City with their teachers, Frs. Sulzen and Robinson.

The tour guide was Ridgefield's own art teacher, Mr. William Nathans, who is also a faculty member at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, CT. He was educated at the Academy of Realist Art, Toronto, Canada and the School of Visual Arts in New York where he received his BFA.

He began the tour in the Baroque Wing spending time with the Spanish painters, Rembrandt, Rubens, El Greco, and concluding with the French impressionists. Onward to the Medieval Wing to view the Christmas tree and Nativity, finishing the day with sketching in the Arms and Armor Wing.

News and photos contribution from Kathy McCormack.
