NEW YORK, NY

On December 6, the
St. Padre Pio (Ridgefield, CT) Middle School visited the
Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City with their
teachers, Frs. Sulzen and Robinson.
The tour guide was Ridgefield's own art teacher, Mr.
William Nathans, who is also a faculty member at
Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, CT. He was
educated at the Academy of Realist Art, Toronto, Canada
and the School of Visual Arts in New York where he
received his BFA.
He began the tour in the Baroque Wing spending time with
the Spanish painters, Rembrandt, Rubens, El Greco, and
concluding with the French impressionists. Onward to the
Medieval Wing to view the Christmas tree and Nativity,
finishing the day with sketching in the Arms and Armor
Wing.
